CTO - AI & Automation Enablement

At FJX Tech, we’re building a new kind of technology enablement company — combining world-class engineering, AI-powered tools, and strategic consulting to support fast-scaling organizations and internal ventures across the FJX Group. With our Digital Delivery Hub in Málaga rapidly expanding, we’re looking for a CTO to lead our AI-first transformation — both internally and for our global clients.

This is a high-impact, strategic, and hands-on leadership role. You’ll work at the intersection of platform architecture, developer experience, and intelligent automation, helping to define how we build and scale technology.

In this role, you will:

• Advise senior technology leaders (CTOs, Heads of Digital) from top-tier brands on architecture, tooling, and AI-driven innovation.
• Shape the future of the FJX Group by embedding automation and AI enablement across recruitment, media, internal platforms, and consulting workflows.
• Own and scale technical foundations — from CI/CD and internal tooling to data pipelines and AI agents — ensuring autonomy and efficiency across our delivery teams.
• Contribute to the culture of a modern, distributed engineering organization grounded in excellence, experimentation, and enablement.

Platform & System Architecture

• Own the design and scalability of the internal platform across engineering teams.
• Integrate and optimize APIs and webhooks (e.g., Yandex, Odoo, WhatsApp).
• Support CDP selection, integration, and architecture improvement for data pipelines.

Developer Experience & Enablement

• Champion best practices in Git strategy, CI/CD tooling, and automation pipelines.
• Evaluate, introduce, and scale AI-powered development tools (e.g. Cursor, Copilot).
• Lead technical enablement efforts and coach teams on tool adoption and self-service platforms.

AI & Automation

• Design and deploy AI automation solutions for support (AI agents), marketing, and ops.
• Connect workflows with low-code tools (n8n, Zapier, Cursor) to reduce repetitive load.

Data & Analytics Infrastructure

• Scale the data warehouse (BigQuery) to support analytics needs across teams.
• Consolidate new data sources (e.g., Odoo) with efficient data modeling.

QA, Testing & Troubleshooting

• Lead efforts in load, stress, and performance testing for scaling systems.
• Establish troubleshooting processes, incident support frameworks, and RCA documentation.

Estimation & Process Ownership

• Estimate infrastructure needs, project delivery scope, and team capacity.
• Collaborate with stakeholders on budgeting, scoping, and infrastructure planning.

Team Design & Strategic Input

• Contribute to engineering team structure, hiring priorities, and technical leadership best practices.

• 6+ years in platform engineering, technical consulting, or system architecture roles

• Hands-on experience with:

  • CI/CD pipelines, GitOps, and internal tooling development
  • AI tools for software development (e.g., Copilot, Cursor, GPT-based agents)
  • Low-code/ AI-code platforms (n8n, Zapier, Make.com, Cursor, etc.)
  • Data management (BigQuery, Metabase, CDP tools)
  • Troubleshooting and incident handling in complex systems
  • Load/stress testing frameworks and QA planning
  • Estimating technical workstreams and infrastructure cost
• Clear understanding of DevOps principles, though not the main focus
• Familiarity with agile methodologies, remote team collaboration, and documentation (e.g. Notion)
