Rust developer

Onside is building the first alternative iOS app marketplace in the EU — a platform where developers can publish, distribute, and monetize their apps outside the App Store. Now we are looking for an experienced Rust developer to join our team! If you like solving complex backend challenges, working close to infrastructure, and shaping how apps get distributed and monetized in the post-App Store era — this is the place.

What you’ll be doing:

• Build core backend services in Rust, powering our marketplace and payments infrastructure.
• Design and implement scalable APIs, background workers, and integrations with external partners.
• Work on non-custodial wallet logic, payouts, card issuing and other fintech-adjacent components.
• Keep our systems secure, observable, and performant under real load.
• Collaborate with DevOps, Frontend, and Product teams to bring new features from design to production.

Tech we use:

Rust (axum, tokio), PostgreSQL, sqlx, Kubernetes, GCP, Docker, Prometheus, Grafana, Tempo, Loki, Sentry.

You’ll fit in if you:

• Have 4+ years of hands-on backend experience on Rust or Rust with C++ before.
• Have solid understanding of distributed systems, async programming, and production-grade APIs.
• Have worked in fintech, billing, or certification.
• Speak good English and Russian.
